Hikkaduwa is on the South West Coast of Sri Lanka about 100Kms away from Colombo city (a leisurely 2-hour drive if using the highway) and 130Kms from the Bandaranayke International Airport. You can get there by bus from the central station (Petah market) or by train from Colombo Fort station (the railway station and bus stations are close to each other).
Hikkaduwa is a very popular tourist town boasting a beautiful stretch of golden beach, clear warm blue water, a great variety of restaurants (many specializing in seafood) and bars, and a party vibe. It is the perfect destination whether you are looking to just relax, enjoy the beach and watch the beautiful sunset, or take part in a plethora of water sports.
We can arrange snorkeling or scuba diving (Hikkaduwa hosts one of the famous coral sanctuaries in Sri Lanka), surfing lessons, help you hire surf boards, organise a ride on a glass bottom boat or a visit to the turtle hatchery.
Make Hikkaduwa your base, and visit the UNESCO heritage listed Galle Fort which is 17kms from Hikkaduwa or go whale watching in the town of Mirissa which is just 61Kms away.
If you are looking to get away from the sand and surf, we can arrange tours and treks to the Adahalena Ella waterfall and the Paniyawela Rainforest.
